Blogging – A Key Element in MLM-Internet Marketing
A Blog is basically a shared online paper or diary where people can post everyday entries about their personal experiences, hobbies, businesses, etc.Blogs are being created daily by hundreds of thousands of people. Technorati, the leading blog aggregate/search engine estimates that close to 200,000 blogs are created each day.
Why such a phenomena? Blogs are perhaps the quickest way to an online presence today. Blogs do not require any technical expertise in setting up, or skills in web designing, etc.
In addition to that, they are favored by search engines. This is because they create communication between the writer and the reader. Through blogging you get to know the writer, you get to learn what they are teaching, and you get to experience what they have experienced.
It’s no secret that an Search Engine Optimized (SEO) Blog is very important for helping to improve your rankings on search engine result pages. You can make use of a blog to get a new site ranked very fast and ahead of your main site if you are committed to posting on a regular basis. Search engines love fresh content so for best results, it should be updated either daily, or at least once a week.
So how does that fit in with your network marketing business? First of all, a prospect will be more apt to listen to your opportunity if they know and trust you. If you are marketing online, that is very hard to establish that relationship through an online ad or website. Yet, through a blog, the reader can learn about you, read your testimonies, and see that you are real and genuine person. A trust factor can be built through blogging, that ads can never do.
The interactive nature of blogs and social networks keep visitors coming back again and again. Therefore, the more you expose your business by using these methods, the greater the income you will ultimately generate for yourself.
To start, you will need to find out which social site you would like to blog from. There are many third party social sites out there, i.e. Facebook, MySpace, Del.ic.ious, Twitter, the list is endless. If you choose to use a third party social site, then you must follow all of their rules and regulations or you will be banned.
If you choose to create your own blog, then I would recommend WordPress.org.
Like any website you own, you must do some blog promotion to start driving traffic to your site. Here are some tips that you can start doing now to get traffic moving to your blog.
1. Set up a Bloglet subscription form on your blog and invite everyone in your network to subscribe: family, friends, colleagues, clients, associates.
2. Read and comment on other blogs that are in your target niche. Don’t write things like “great blog” or “good post.” Write intelligent, useful comments with a link to your blog. Start up a conversation.
3. Submit your blog to blog directories.
4. Add a link to your blog in your email signature file.
5. Put a link to your blog on every page of your website.
6. Write articles and publish in article directories on the internet. Include a link to your blog in the author info box (Resource box).
7. Print your blog URL on your business cards, car magnets, brochures and flyers.
8. Use Ping-0-matic to ping blog directories. Do this every time you publish. http://www.pingomatic.com
9. If you publish a newsletter for your business, make sure you have a link to your blog in every issue.
10. Post often, at least once per week, to get your subscribers to come back and refer you to others in their networks.
